I’m currently in Dallas, Texas visiting with the family. As today is officially Black Friday, many people are frantically shopping for the best deals on Christmas gifts. Not me!

I am sitting on my parent’s red leather couch relaxing the day away. I couldn’t be more stress-free on one of the most stressful days of the year.

Yesterday, I visited what is currently the biggest, most expensive (American) football stadium in the world, Cowboys Stadium.

This is actually the 2nd year in a row that I attended a Cowboys game on Thanksgiving.

I was especially excited because the Cowboys would play the New Orleans Saints, the defending Super Bowl champions. In addition, the close proximity of the two cities enhances this fierce rivalry.

The main phrase that travelers hear upon arriving in Texas is, “Everything’s bigger in Texas!” Cowboys Stadium easily lives up to our famous slogan.

Quoted from Wikipedia

“The stadium is the largest domed stadium in the world, has the world’s largest column-free interior and the largest high definition video screen which hangs from 20 yard line to 20 yard line”.

The ever present screen is truly magnificent. Because of the unique design, there isn’t a bad seat in the house. I found myself on many occasions looking up at the world’s largest HD television to get a peak at the action.

Here is a shot of the screen from our seats.

Total price tag for all the features listed above: 1.3 BILLION DOLLARS!

Oh ya, the actual game was great as well.

92,000 screaming fans inside a giant enclosed dome with the loudest speakers in the world blasting stadium rock anthems creates a truly magical experience.

We lost a close game, 30 – 27, in a game that came down to a last second field goal attempt. Oh well, good teams find a way to win and bad ones find a way to lose, Dallas just isn’t that good this year.

However, the final outcome of the game doesn’t take away the experience that is attending an event at Cowboys Stadium.

In addition to football games, Cowboys Stadium in Irving also hosts events in college and high school football, NBA basketball, rock concerts, soccer, and boxing matches. This year, the stadium will host the 2011 Super Bowl. All of this equates to big bucks to the city of Dallas and surrounding areas.

Jerry Jones 1.3 Billion USD investment helps the Dallas Cowboys continue to be America’s most popular professional football team.

The design, technology, atmosphere, fan experience, beauty, and people make Cowboys Stadium currently the GREATEST STADIUM EVER BUILT!
